New book of essays - The Prayer Books of the Church of Ireland

THE PRAYER BOOKS OF THE CHURCH OF IRELAND

As the Church of Ireland prepares to receive the third revision of the Book of Common Prayer four members of the Liturgical Advisory Committee have written essays describing in highly readable form the books that precede the 2004 edition and something of its coming about.

BCP 2004 editor, Canon Brian Mayne, said: ?All four writers have a well of knowledge and I am delighted to have been able to draw from it and in an inexpensive booklet share that knowledge with a wider audience?.

The writers are Bishop Richard Clarke, Canon Edgar Turner, Canon Michael Kennedy and Canon Brian Mayne, who has also edited the booklet.

The Prayer Books of the Church of Ireland 1551-2004 is published by Columba Press at StgL 2.99 / euro 3.99
