The Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Revd John Neill, his predecessor, Dr Empey, and the Dublin & Glendalough Diocesan Chancellor, the Hon. Mrs Justice Catherine McGuinness, are among a number of notable people who will be conferred with honorary degrees by the National University of Ireland during 2003.

Archbishop Neill will be conferred with an honorary LL.D degree by the National University of Ireland, Galway, on Friday 27 June 2003. Dr Empey and Mrs McGuinness will receive honorary LL.D degrees from NUI in a ceremony at Dublin Castle on Thursday 10 April 2003.
