NEW ?E-ZINE? ZOOMS IN ON YOUTH

The Church of Ireland Youth Department today launched a new electronic information bulletin directed at youth leaders and young people in the church.

The monthly bulletin or ?E-zine? is entitled ?Zoom!? It will cover youth issues as well as linking young people to other sources of information.

David Brown, the Church of Ireland?s Youth Ministry Co-ordinator, said: ??Zoom!? along with our Youth Department?s website (http://www.ciyd.org) will serve the church?s mission to young people. Anyone who wants to receive this bulletin on a monthly basis should get in touch with me at CIYD.?

The first issue of ?Zoom!? covers summer events including a youth ministers retreat in London and a ?National Youth Leaders Convention? to be held in Belfast . ?The Big Event?, a one-day conference in Belfast, is also highlighted offering ?ideas, resources, and training for effective youth ministry?.

?Zoom!? includes information on the NI Youth Forum consultation and invites young people to send in their ideas about how this body should work in the future. There is also news of a Government Secondment opportunity at the Office of the Deputy First Minister to work on the ?Learning to Listen Action Plan? involving children and young people.

The new e-zine can be found in the news section of the CIYD website http://www.ciyd.org
