Carraig Centre reaches out in Cork community
A new video in the Church of Ireland’s Inspiring angles series tells the story of the Carraig Centre, a community centre owned and operated by the Carrigrohane Union of Parishes on the outskirts of Cork city. The Carraig Centre seeks to reach out with Christ’s love as a place of hope and peace serving the needs of the local community, and a place of worship and discipleship.
Carrigrohane Union’s rector, the Revd Robert Ferris, remarks: “The Carraig Centre has been a long time in the making. It is just now that we are seeing the fruit of so many people’s hard work and prayer.
“We are totally dependent on our amazing team of people who have given so much of their time and talents to make this place what it is today. It has been a marathon to get us to where we are – and to have built up a reputation of being a safe place for the community to be.
“Looking forward, we are excited about what will be the next chapter in our story as we build upon what is, and continue to reach out and support the needs of so many in the local communities around about us.”
The video is now available to watch on the Church of Ireland’s website and social media channels. Watch out for the following key moments in the interviews with Robert and with lead evangelist and community leader Matt Gould:
