In his Presidential Address to Connor Diocesan Synod held in St Patrick’s, Jordanstown, on Thursday June 26, Bishop George Davison reflected on recent violence on streets of towns within the diocese. Reminding Synod that ‘the gospel of Jesus tells us that our neighbour is our neighbour, whoever they are or whatever their background,’ the Bishop also spoke of conflicts around the world, and ‘the rise of political parties whose rationale seems to be based on a philosophy that problems can be solved by keeping ‘them’ out – whoever ‘they’ might be in a particular context.’
