Bishop Pat Storey – Reflections on Retirement

Bishop Pat Storey made headline news when she became the first female Anglican Bishop in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

After thirteen years as the only female in the Church of Ireland House of Bishops, the Belfast–born Bishop of Meath and Kildare is retiring in July.

The mother of two took time out from her busy schedule to talk about her imminent departure from her Episcopal role.

The Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of all Ireland, the Most Rev’d John McDowell, paid warm tribute to Bishop Pat in his President Address at the General Synod in Newcastle, County Down.

Ray Hayden asked Bishop Pat to summarise what she thought after attending her last General Synod as Bishop.
