Church of Ireland in appeal for action on global warming

The Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland and the Bishop–elect of Cork, Cloyne and Ross have issued a joint statement saying that more must be done to counter global warming and the dangers it presents to millions of people.

Archbishop John McDowell and Archdeacon Andrew Orr, who is the Church of Ireland representative on the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, delivered their appeal during the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) gathering which is meeting for the first time in Northern Ireland.

In their statement, they said that global warming and unimaginable damage to the environment are disasters that are currently unfolding before our eyes.

Archdeacon Orr has been talking to Ray Hayden.
