ARCHBISHOP EAMES PAYS TRIBUTE TO WALTON EMPEY
In a warm tribute following the announcement that Archbishop Walton Empey is to retire in July, the Church of Ireland Primate, Dr Eames, said:
“Archbishop Walton Empey has been a superb Archbishop of Dublin where he won the affection and respect of all traditions and communities.
“His pastoral gifts, his warmth and his great courage as a leader have been admired far beyond the Church of Ireland. Within our House of Bishops his support and wise guidance will be sadly missed.
“On behalf of the Church of Ireland I wish Archbishop Walton and his devoted wife Louise many years of happiness in retirement.”
