Installation of the new Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin
INSTALLATION OF THE NEW DEAN OF CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL, DUBLIN

The Very Revd Desmond Harman will be installed as Dean of Christ Church Cathedral on Monday 26 April 2004 at 8.00pm. During the service he will also be instituted as Rector of the Christ Church Cathedral Group of parishes, a position held by the Dean.
Representatives of church and state will be among the large attendance, which will include Cardinal Desmond Connell, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and the Papal Nuncio, the Most Revd Giuseppe Lazzarotto. The address will be given by Archdeacon Gordon Linney, Rector of Glenageary.
Commenting on his installation the new Dean said, "I feel greatly honoured to be asked to be Dean of Christ Church. Over many centuries the Cathedral has been a unique place of prayer and today is well known as a vibrant place of worship.
"There have been great developments in recent years at Christ Church. These began with Dean Salmon's initiatives and were expanded during Dean Paterson's time. I hope to build on the wonderful work of my two immediate predecessors and to keep Christ Church to the forefront as a living place of worship in a busy city.
"Christ Church and St Patrick's [Cathedral, Dublin] attract huge numbers of visitors every year. I hope that we will be enabled to continue to offer a special ministry to everyone."
