DUBLIN GARDA DEATHS

The Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Revd Walton Empey, today visited the Gardai Station at Donnybrook to express his personal sympathy to the colleagues of the officers tragically killed yesterday in the course of doing their duty.

Archbishop Empey said he found a very deep sense of sorrow and shock among the people he met at the station.

He said: “I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the deceased officers families and the Garda Siochana. We are all very proud of our police officers and are aware of the dangers that they face with courage and dedication each day.”
