Churches encourage youth outreach

CHURCHES ENCOURAGE YOUTH OUTREACH

The Church of Ireland Youth Department today announced plans for a National Youth Leaders Convention to be based in both Belfast and Dublin in partnership with the Methodist and Presbyterian Youth Offices.

The Convention to be held over three days - 17, 18 and 19 June 2004 - promises to equip, encourage and envision Youth Ministry across the Churches with key note speakers coming from the UK and the USA as well as from across Ireland.

David Brown, Church of Ireland Youth Ministry Co-ordinator, said: "This Convention will give clergy and youth leaders loads of ideas and provide plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking."

The Convention begins on Thursday, 17 June at St Mark's Family Centre, Pearce Street, Dublin 9am to 4.30pm. It then moves to Belfast on Friday, 18 June and Saturday, 19 June to the Spires Building, Fisherwick Place 9am to 4.30pm.
