CHANGES AT APCK BOOKCENTRES

APCK Bookcentres in Dublin and Belfast will see major changes early next year.

Book retailing is a very competitive market especially in Dublin where there is a number of large outlets near the small space occupied by APCK in Dawson Street.

As a result of this the APCK outlet in Dublin will close over the next month or so and responsibility for the continued trading of the larger Belfast shop in Donegall Street will be transferred to the Church of Ireland Diocesan Councils of Down & Dromore, and Connor.

The Sunday School Society also operates a Book and Resource Centre in Rathmines and this will continue as an important centre for Christian books and stationery in Dublin.

The Chairman of APCK, Professor Adrian Empey said: "I want to pay tribute to Fergus McCullough and his staff in Dawson Street, who have worked, with great commitment, over many years."

The APCK will continue to focus on original core activities with its major and traditional role of publishing church material and administering its trust funds.
