PRAYERS FOR PEACE ON SEPTEMBER 11th IN CORK

At Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork at 12 noon on Wednesday 11th September, the first anniversary of the deaths of so many in the United States of America as a result of terrorist attacks, the Right Reverend Paul Colton, Bishop of Cork will preside at the Cathedral's usual weekly Eucharist.

Prayers of remembrance and for the peace of the world will be the special focus of the Service.

Bishop Colton said: "Many minds are turning again to the indelible television images of last year's terrorist attacks on the United States of America, and most especially to the stories and reports of immense human tragedy and pain that have unfolded since. We are also mindful at this time of the precarious state of the world's peace. For that reason we propose to draw these two things together in our prayers as a fitting memorial on September 11th."
