DUBLIN CHURCHES MARK THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 11TH ATTACK

The first anniversary of the 11 September atrocities in the United States will be remembered at church services in a number of churches in Dublin.

At the request of the US Embassy a Service of Commemoration will be held in Christ Church Cathedral Dublin at 6.00pm on Wednesday 11 September 2002. The Service is intended to provide a quiet opportunity for people going home from business to step aside from the noisy city to pray for all who were involved in any way in the catastrophe. Evensong will be sung by the Cathedral Girls' Choir and anyone who would like to attend will be very welcome.

St Bartholomew's Church, Clyde Road, a short distance from the US Embassy, will be open for quiet reflection from 10.00 am concluding with a short service at 6.00 pm.

At St Ann's Church Dawson Street the event will be remembered at the daily Holy Communion Service at 12.45 pm.
