STATEMENT FROM ARCHBISHOP ROBIN EAMES PRIMATE OF THE CHURCH OF IRELAND
I have learned with great dismay of the recent tragic events in Northern Ireland. I offer my sincere sympathy and prayers to the families of those who have been killed, to the injured and to all whose homes have been attacked.
This is a critical stage in the peace process and all those involved in the Talks must spare no effort to produce an agreement which will be fair to all of our people.
At a time like this the frustration of ordinary, decent, law-abiding people must not be ignored. They have a right to be heard - and their voice is a clear call for an end to the killing and a solution which will be a sign of hope for their future.
