NEW EDUCATION OFFICER APPOINTED
A new Education Officer and Secretary to the General Synod Board of Education has been appointed. Dr Harold Hislop, who is currently Principal of Whitechurch National School and a part-time lecturer and examiner in the Department of Teacher Training in Trinity College, Dublin has accepted the position.
Dr Hislop was formerly a full time development officer with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) at Dublin Castle during the period 1995/97 on a secondment from Whitechurch National School.
Dr Hislop has been a member of the General Synod Board of Education and its Republic of Ireland committee since 1992. He is also a member of the Central Board of the Church of Ireland Youth Council and of the Dublin and Glendalough Diocesan Synod.
Dr Hislop will take up this position within the next few months.
