PRIMATE SPEAKS AT OPENING OF NEW MINISTRY OF HEALING CENTRE
Extracts from the address given by Church of Ireland Primate Archbishop Robin Eames at the dedication of the Church of Ireland Ministry of Healing Centre at Egan House, St Michans Church, Dublin 7 at 3.00 p.m. on Saturday, 23rd May 1998
One of the greatest gifts Christianity brings to the world is the gift of healing. The greatest need of the world is healing - healing in every way. The healing of society which have been driven asunder by division. The healing of rifts between nations. The healing of personal relationships which have been broken down. The healing of the relationship between God and people made in His image. On a personal level everyone needs to experience the power of healing, for healing in the Christian serves you far beyond the dimension of physical healing. The Ministry of Healing of the Church should be at the frontier of peoples' contact with their God. It carries a responsibility of immense proportions.
