PRISONERS BROADCAST GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE

Prisoners in Mountjoy Prison, Dublin are to take part in the Good Friday Service of readings and hymns to be broadcast from the prison's Church of Ireland Church on RTE Radio 1 from 2pm to 3pm.

The readers are all serving sentences and are regular attenders at Sunday services in the church.

Prison Chaplain, Revd. Katherine Poulton, Bishop's Curate at St George's Parish in Dublin, said: "The service has been recorded and people from local parishes joined the prison congregation for this special service of readings and hymns. St George's has maintained pastoral links with prisoners and this continues with not only the Sunday Service, but also weekly visits to those prisoners coming under the pastoral care of the Church of Ireland."
