FXC - second stage and Church21
The next stage of FXC - a journey of discovery about new ways of doing church today - takes place on 26 April at the Jethro Centre, Lurgan. Rev Dr Steven Croft, who heads up the Fresh expressions iniative shared by the Church of England and the Methodist Church in England, will be the speaker and facilitator for the day. Two contrasting initiatives in Ireland, the Rivers project in Carrick-on-Shannon and Wells church which originated in Belfast, will be featured on DVD and provide a platform for exploring issues such as leadership, permission and the essence of church. News of a new Mission-shaped Ministry programme starting in Belfast this September will be shared at the conference. The event is organised by the Covenant Council in conjunction with the mission councils of the two Churches. There are still some places available.
A second Church21 Parish Development Programme for the Church of Ireland will commence in early 2009. A key feature of the programme will be the Parish Development Conference which takes place 11-13 September at St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Dublin.
