Columbian Pastor Speaking in Belfast
A Columbian pastor, who has been working for more than twenty years in the city of Cali, one of the biggest drug centres in the world, will be speaking in Belfast. Pastor Hendrick Hoere will be at St. George’s Church in High Street (near the Albert Clock) at 1 pm on Monday, 19 May and at 8 pm in St. Anne’s Cathedral that evening. On Tuesday, 20 May at 8 pm he will speak in St. Finnian’s Church, Cregagh.
Columbia is well-known for drugs and violence. In 2001 alone, 40,000 people were killed. In the city of Cali 18,000 people were killed in a ten-year period. Yet alongside that violence is a vibrant spiritual movement. People are very open to and hungry for things spiritual. Pastor Hendrick will speak on the theme, ‘Great faith in the midst of violence’.
In Northern Ireland we have much to learn from a pastor working in a country where the faith is advancing rapidly. The three services in which Pastor Hendrick will be speaking are healing services, so personal prayer for healing and anointing with oil will be offered.
For a few years Hendrick has had a close relationship with West Church Presbyterian Church in Bangor so the worship in St. Anne’s Cathedral will be led by two members of that congregation, Paul and Beulah Shields.
You will be very welcome at all of these services.
