Fivemiletown Flower Festival and Community Weekend
Fivemiletown Set For Lively Festival Weekend
29 May - 1 June
This weekend starting Friday 29th May, the Church of Ireland in Fivemiletown Parish, St John's and Kiltermon, are hosting a Flower Festival and Community Weekend which promises to be a very special weekend involving a host of people from across the whole community. Musicians, bands-people, entertainers, school choirs, exhibitors, craftspeople, and foodies are all joining to celebrate community life in Fivemiletown and the wider district.
The central attraction of this weekend of activities will be the four-day-long Flower Festival which reflects upon Jesus as the Water of Life, what He means to us as a church, and what impact He has on us today.
Another attraction during the weekend will be the Community Fair and Craft Day which includes a summer fair, craft exhibition and stalls, photographic competition and children’s entertainer 'The Party Professor'.
One special item is an age-specific photographic competition looking at life in the local area entitled 'This is Fivemiletown'.
The funds raised during the weekend will be distributed to a number of good causes, including the purchase of support beds and mattresses for Health and Social Services use in the local community, and the South American Mission Society's sewing and nursing projects in Paraguay.
The weekend events come to a conclusion with an Evening Concert on Monday 1st June at 8.00pm in Fivemiletown Parish Hall.
