Auxiliaries? Summer School at Theological College
Last Thursday the new season of training for those in the auxiliary ministry programme began in the Church of Ireland Theological College with a summer school which continues until tomorrow (Sunday).
The summer school is a part of the on-going development of the auxiliary training programme. Under the direction of the Revd Tom Gordon, the programme has been substantially revised and expended over the past two years with an increased residential requirement and revised units of study in the areas of liturgy and pastoral theology. The summer school, now an integral part of the academic year, allows for a more focused introduction to the programme for the year ahead and a chance to study a topic (usually some aspect of pastoral ministry) in more depth. It also provides an opportunity to welcome new members to the group and to meet teaching and administrative staff.
The theme this year is ?Conflict, Peace and Reconciliation? which will be facilitated by Cecilia Clegg from the Irish School of Ecumenics. In addition the Revd Dr Michael Kennedy will introduce the liturgy module for the term and there will be an RSCM workshop on music and liturgy.
