Statement by the Bishop of Derry & Raphoe on the retirement of Bishop Francis Lagan

IN CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL, DUBLIN

The retirement of the Auxiliary Bishop of Derry, The Most Revd Francis Lagan, gives me the opportunity to acknowledge and pay tribute to the valuable contribution the bishop has made to life in the wider community as well as in the diocese.

Bishop Lagan has always displayed a warm, generous and co-operative spirit in his dealings with people.  I thank him for his leadership as well as for his friendship and heartily wish him a blessed, happy and healthy retirement.
