The Bishop’s Bible Week is now a regular and much-valued part of the annual programme in the Church of Ireland Diocese of Down and Dromore. This year, ‘There is Still a Vision: Studies in the Book of Habbakuk,’ will be led by Canon Dr Christina Baxter CBE.

Christina is a gifted Bible teacher and a personal friend of Bishop Harold Miller’s since they were on staff together at St John’s College, Nottingham. She became the college principal in 1997 and is a well known figure in the Church of England as Lay Chairman of the General Synod and a member of the Archbishop’s Council. She has been a Reader since 1971 in three different dioceses and became a Lay Canon of Southwell Minster in 2000. It was for her work in the Church of England that Christina was recently honoured by the Queen with a CBE.

The Bible week offers four nights of superb Bible teaching, worship and a chance to catch up with people from all around the province. It will begin each evening at 8pm in Willowfield Parish Church, Belfast, from Mon 23-Thurs 26th August 2010 and all are warmly invited.
