All are welcome at the Bishop's Bible Week

The Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Rt Revd Harold Miller, has extended a warm welcome to all who would like to join the Diocese for its annual Bishop’s Bible Week beginning next Monday evening.

“We are fortunate to be able to welcome a superb Bible teacher in the person of Canon Dr Christina Baxter,” said Bishop Harold. “She will teach in the Book of Habakkuk under the title ‘There is Still a Vision’ and I would love as many people as possible to benefit and to join us in worship and fellowship.”

The Bible Week runs for four nights from Mon 23-Thurs 26th August 2010 in Willowfield Parish Church, Belfast. It begins each evening at 8pm and ends by 9.30pm. This is the fourth such event.

Christina Baxter is a gifted Bible teacher and a personal friend of Bishop Harold’s since they were on staff together at St John’s College, Nottingham. She became the college principal in 1997 and is a well known figure in the Church of England as Lay Chairman of the General Synod and a member of the Archbishop’s Council. It was for her work in the Church of England that Christina was recently honoured by the Queen with a CBE.
