CMS Ireland 'Families for Families' Appeal now closed

THE CMS IRELAND APPEAL FOR CLOTHES HAS NOW CLOSED AND ANYONE WHO HAS GATHERED DONATIONS IS ENCOURAGED TO DELIVER THEM TO SEAPATRICK PARISH CHURCH, BANBRIDGE BY SATURDAY 8TH JANUARY 2005.

Canon Cecil Wilson, CMS Ireland?s General Secretary, said: ?The Tsunami disaster is a real human tragedy and we must not lose sight of the plight of individual people and communities. The statistics and the stories that we hear on a daily basis are mind-blowing - it is almost impossible to come to terms with the scale of what has happened. This week it has been a real privilege to be able to help respond in a specific way to a specific request from the Church in Thailand and we hope to continue to support the relief effort in the coming months.

?This type of appeal is slightly different to how CMS Ireland normally works and I have been humbled by the way in which people have supported it. We would also want to encourage people to continue giving financially to agencies that are directly channeling funding. The work of the aid agencies has been magnificent! The money that they are raising is essential now and will be vital in the years ahead as people look to rebuild their lives?.

NO FURTHER DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER SATURDAY 8TH JANUARY.
