"Currin 200" Update - St Andrew's Church, Scotshouse (Clogher)

The snow did not stop the congregation from celebrating Currin 200 on Sunday 28th November. More than 125 parishioners, friends and visitors came to a sunny and frosty Scotshouse, and the church looked splendid indeed, surrounded with snow.

St Andrew's church was at its best, beautifully decorated and welcoming to all. The service was a celebration of the past, present and future. The Revd Paul Hoey preached about stewardship in terms of how to look after our church, our faith, and the wider creation. He also reminded us of the importance of encouraging one another and of expressing consideration to others.

After the service tea, sandwiches, buns and cakes were served in Killyfarge Hall, where a log fire welcomed everyone on arrival. In the hall there was also a small exhibition with photographs and documents telling some of the history of the parish.

Currin Church of Ireland parish and its rector, the Revd Helene T. Steed, would like to thank all who supported them at this celebration and who contributed financially to the church restoration and parish funds. This generosity is most appreciate.
