The Rt Revd Dr Norman Hamilton, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, took part today (Tuesday 1 June 2011) in the KJV@4:00 initiative at the Church of Ireland’s Good Book Shop, Belfast. Marking roughly the halfway point of the venture to mark 400th Anniversary of King James Bible in 2011, the Moderator read Psalms 54-59.

At 4.00 p.m. on each weekday of business over the course of 2011, a passage from the King James Bible is being read aloud in the shop so that the entire bible will be read in a year.

The readings have attracted a wide variety of guest readers since January, from various walks of life. Last Wednesday (25 May), recently elected MLA for North Down Steven Agnew (Green Party leader in Northern Ireland) also participated, also reading from the Psalms.

There are a few slots for reading available later in the year. If anyone is interested in becoming a reader, please e-mail Richard Ryan at [email protected] or phone 028 9082 8890.
