North Area meeting and celebration with Clontarf on their MU branch 80th Birthday

We in the North Area had a super night when we were able to celebrate 80 years of M.U. in Clontarf branch on Thursday November 10, 2011. We had our meeting that night in St John the Baptist Church, Clontarf and it was such a fun night with the Debenhams Personal Shopper from Blanchardstown who came along, showed us some of their new range in clothing suitable for us and explained what this service was all about – its a totally free service, with no pressure and is a very relaxed way to shop. Whilst she goes around the store picking out what you should be wearing, you have a cuppa. You can bring a friend along too, to help you choose or not choose as the case maybe! All in the privacy of the personal shopping lounge and changing room…..

As part of this service they have a bra sizing specialist so of course during the evening you could imagine there was a very long line of ladies queueing for that….. and also two skin and make up specialists from Clarins who advised us about our skin and aging and what we should or should not use.

We all got goody bags to take home with us which including privilege shopping cards for everyone in the audience and someone took home one that had a money voucher in it as well!….

After all the fun Iris Acheson and Hazel led in the birthday cake with myself. We also raised the roof by singing Happy Birthday to Clontarf after which the candles were blown out. A great achievement. Well done.

Our thanks to all the ladies for bringing all the lovely goodies we had for our supper that night and for all the hard work put in by those in the background to make this all happen.

We had a marvellous turn out from all the other branches in the North Area ( Malahide, Santry and Glasnevin, Raheny and Coolock, Castleknock with Clonsilla, Finglas Northstrand and Drumcondra) in fact the room was bursting at the seams! Our thanks go to everyone for making this such a special evening.
