Barbara Laverty, a member of Down and Dromore Mothers? Union, and enrolling member of St John?s, Orangefield, was recently honoured at a special ceremony in London by The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. She received the award and a cheque for £1,000 from the RCSLT president, Sir George Cox.

For the past 10 years Barbara has worked as a therapy assistant at Tor Bank Special School in Dundonald, Belfast and was nominated by the school because of her exceptional talents and the amazing work she has done there.
