On Saturday 10 January All Saints Clooney in Londonderry welcomed their new minister as Revd David McBeth was instituted as rector. The parish had been vacant since Revd Malcolm Ferry moved across the city to St Augustine’s in March 2014.
David was supported by his wife, family and local politicians, including Cllr Brenda Stevenson, as well as parishioners from Dungiven and Bovevagh where he had been rector for four years. Before that he worked in an Anglican church in the diocese of Melbourne for three years after serving his curacy in Glendermott with Canon Derek Creighton.

The preacher at the service was the Revd Trevor Johnston, rector of All Saints Belfast. Mr Johnston highlighted the hard work ethic, pastoral heart and driven nature of the rector Clooney had just appointed, and commended him and April to their prayers .
After the service refreshments were served in the All Saints Centre, and speeches were given by parishioners from both Dungiven and Bovevagh and Mr McBeth’s new parish of Clooney.
