Kingston College Says Thank You To Cork Diocesan Secretary

The Kingston College Trustees make a presentation to Wilfred Baker on his retirement (l–r), Keith Roberts, the Rt Revd Dr Kenneth Kearon, Bishop of Limerick, Wilfred Baker, Bishop of Cork, the Rt Revd Dr Paul Colton (Chairman) and the Bishop of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory, the Rt Revd Michael Burrows.

The trustees, residents, warden and chaplain of Kingston College, Mitchelstown, Co Cork, gathered on Tuesday, 24 March to say farewell to the secretary of the charity, Mr Wilfred Baker and to mark his retirement as Diocesan Secretary.

Following a meeting of the trustees, the College community gathered in the Chapel for Morning Prayer after which tributes were paid, and gratitude expressed to Mr Baker, by the Chaplain, Canon Tom Sherlock, the Bishop of Cork, Dr Paul Colton (Chairman of the Trust), and the Warden, Ms Carole Bradley. Presentations were made, including one on behalf of the residents made by the longest resident Ms Gráinne McCann.

Kingston College (College, as in ‘community’ – not an educational establishment) consists of thirty small terraced houses grouped around a large square, with a chapel in the centre. The setting is very attractive and the buildings are fine examples of Georgian architecture. More information is to be found at: http://cork.anglican.org/charities/kingston-college/
