Bishop Henderson's first book is published

The Rt Revd Richard Henderson, Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achronry, has had his first book published. The Jealousy of Jonah, published by Columba Press, is a short book that offers to show how the Book of Jonah can be seen as a parable of the Church today.

In his introduction, Bishop Henderson writes, “It is a book that touches all the personal things that matter most to all of us – life and death, love and hate, forgiveness and retribution, belonging and separation, gain and loss, hope and despair… it is the most powerful commentary on sectarianism – where religion and national identity can combine to make people lethally uncaring and ignorant of others.

The book is written as a commentary on Jonah with the narrative of the original text laid against remarks and observations. It can be used both individually and by groups.

The ISBN number is 1-85607-522-2.
