Archbishop of Armagh's statement on the celebration of Holy Communion

Commenting on a report in today?s Irish Times, Archbishop Robin Eames, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland said:

?With regard to the report in today?s Irish Times that a concelebration of Holy Communion took place in the Augustinian priory in Drogheda, Co Louth at the weekend, I share Archbishop Brady?s concern over the implications for ecumenical relationships and I will be similarly requesting more information. Unfortunately, such occasions while well intentioned can lead to misunderstandings and misinterpretations at a time when relations between our Churches have improved so much.?
