The annual service for the National School pupils and teachers of Tuam, Killala and Achonry Dioceses was held on Friday 6th November in St Mary’s Cathedral, Tuam. In the region of 150 children and adults attended. The service was organised by the Revd Jennifer McWhirter and Stephen Brickenden and led by the Revd Jennifer McWhiter.

The guest speaker was the Revd Roger Thompson from CMS Ireland. Roger told the children about everyday life in Kenya where TKA has been partnered with the diocese of Kajiado to help with the development of Oloouysian Secondary School for Masai girls. This partnership came to the end of its three year cycle in September just past.

The Revd Roger Thompson used slides, drama and music as well as the spoken word in order to pass on news and information about Kenya to the children. On no less than two occasions during the service he had everyone literally dancing in the aisles – a new departure for St Mary’s Cathedral! Needless to say the children loved every minute.
