DUFEM Two "Young Ambassadors" go to China

The Dublin University Far Eastern Mission has sent two ‘young ambassadors’ into China.

Graham Ruddle and Roisin Rowley Brooke, both Trinity College students, are spending a month (mid-June to mid-July) doing voluntary work in Shanghai with the YMCA and its Director, Mr Wu Jian Rong. The YMCA is very active in Shanghai and is run in association with the China Christian Council. Earlier in the year the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr John Neill, visited its state-of the-art community facilities. Graham, a keen judo player, is a Presbyterian from Lucan and Roisin, a talented musician, lives in Nenagh, where her mother is Rector.

The Chairman of DUFEM, Dr Alan McCormack, commented, “It is wonderful to be able to send two of our most gifted young students into the exciting context of Shanghai. I know they will represent Trinity College and the DUFEM brilliantly. I wish them well in their travels.
