Building Blocks "The National Children" Ministry Conference - November 2006

Are You Involved in Ministry Amongst Children or Plan to Be?

If you are involved in ministry amongst children, or are planning to be, in your parish as a Sunday School teacher or Children’s Club leader or maybe you are ordained or teach children in school then this is the conference for you. It is a conference that aims to support and encourage all those working with children in their local parish, school or community.

Following the great success of the National Children’s Ministry Conference for the last three years another conference is being planned by a group of representatives from the main Christian churches in Belfast and Dublin. The Church of Ireland is represented by Rev. Ian Ellis in Belfast and Heather Wilkinson, Helen Groves and Rev. Anne Taylor in Dublin

The ‘Building Blocks’ Children’s Ministry Conference will again be held in two venues. The Northern conference will be held at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, on Saturday 18th November and the southern event will take place at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin on Saturday 25th November.

The keynote speaker is Marlene LeFever, who is director of Educational Ministries for Cook Communications, based in Colorado. Marlene has a wide experience in children’s ministry and is involved in consultations and training of children’s workers across the globe.

There will be a wide variety of seminars on topics such as leading an under 5s ministry, school assemblies, helping children with special needs, children and worship, arts and crafts, help for first time leaders, using games to teach the Bible, and more.

Last year both conferences were fully booked so if you are hoping to attend please book early.
