Archbishop Richard Clarke and Archbishop Eamon Martin will today continue their pilgrimage to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.  The Archbishops and a cross–community group of 30 young people visited Glasnevin Cemetery, in Dublin, yesterday before travelling onwards to Belgium and France.

Today, they will visit sites which are significant to the battle, including Thiepval Wood and Guillemont, the Ulster Tower, Newfoundland Park and Lochnagar crater.  The group will later travel to Ypres for the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony.  The pilgrimage will conclude tomorrow with visits to the Ypres Salient battlefields and cemeteries.

A report on the visit to Glasnevin is available at BBC News Online.  The Archbishops were also interviewed this morning on Good Morning Ulster (at 7.10am) and Radio Foyle’s Breakfast programme (at 7.53am).
