Statement by the Bishop of Connor on Shooting of PSNI Officer
From The Rt Revd Alan Abernethy, Bishop of Connor:
‘The shooting of the police officer in North Belfast last night is a wholly unjustifiable and appalling act. There can be no excuse for any attack on members of the PSNI and they deserve our support as they carry out their duties on behalf of the whole community.
‘My prayers are with the injured police officer and his family at this time.’
