Archbishop of Dublin Expresses Sympathy on Passing of Cardinal Connell

The Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Michael Jackson, has expressed his sympathy to members of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin on the death of the long serving former Archbishop of Dublin, Cardinal Desmond Connell. He wishes to assure all of those touched by Cardinal Connell’s death of his prayers at this sad time of bereavement.

In a statement, the Archdiocese of Dublin said that Cardinal Connell passed away during the night. Born in 1926, he was Archbishop of Dublin from to 1988 until 2004 and Cardinal since 2001.
