New Resource for Pastoral Ministry
On Monday in Tallaght Hospital the Minister for Children, Mr Brian Lenihan TD, will launch Miscarriage & Stillbirth: the Changing Response which has been produced as a resource for families, those in pastoral ministry and healthcare providers. The book is the work of the Revd Bruce Pierce, until recently Chaplain in Tallaght Hospital, and currently Chaplain at Toronto General Hospital in Canada.
It is an exploration of the nature of grief and the significance of ritual as part of the grieving process, and offers liturgical resources from the Christian tradition and from other faiths. The book promises to be a most valuable tool for difficult and sensitive occasions on which those most immediately affected have often been thrown back on their own, all too obviously, inadequate resources.
The book is a publishing collaboration between Veritas and the APCK and is believed to be the first joint venture between these two publishers.
