Alpha Conference in Dublin

Next Wednesday the Archbishop of Dublin will open a two day Alpha Conference in St Catherine’s Church, Thomas Street, Dublin. The conference has been organized by CORE, which is based in St Catherine’s and which is led by the Revd Willi Stewart.

Alpha is a fifteen session, ten week, practical introduction to the Christian faith and has been designed primarily for non-churchgoers and those who have recently become Christians. The course was developed in Holy Trinity Church, Brompton, London, over twenty years ago and there are now some 25,000 Alpha courses throughout the world. The course is run in 132 countries and has been translated into fifty languages.

The Dublin Conference will be led by two members of the staff of Holy Trinity, Brompton, the Revd Jez Barnes and the Revd Paul Crowley, both of whom have considerable experience of Alpha courses and conferences. The conference is designed for leaders who would like to know more about Alpha, anyone already running an Alpha course, anyone who would like to bring their Alpha team to be trained.
