Petrol bomb attacks "Shameful" - Bishop Good

PETROL BOMB ATTACKS ?SHAMEFUL? ? BISHOP GOOD

The Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Rt Revd Ken Good, said today that recent petrol bomb attacks in Derry are shameful and dangerous.

In a statement Bishop Good said: ?The spate of petrol bomb attacks in the city this week, not least in the Fountain Estate, is an unacceptable development that runs counter to the overall progress that is being made in community relations here.

? The attack last night on the home of Mr Denis Bradley, Vice Chairman of the Policing Board, was not just a shameful and hazardous assault on that particular household, but an attack on civic society at large and on courageous attempts to build a safer and more unified community.

?I am relieved that nobody has been seriously injured in these recent incidents, but those who involve themselves in planning and perpetrating this kind of violence must realise the unpredictable potential for serious injury and even tragic loss of life."
