'TRUST GIVES US HOPE - ARCHBISHOP EAMES

Archbishop Robin Eames today urged the people of Northern Ireland to move on out of the darkness of the past and find a new confidence and hope for the future.

In his Easter Sermon in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh, Archbishop Eames said: "A new trust across the community is desperately needed this Easter. While our society must move on into the future we must do so on a basis that the darkness of the past is behind us and the future is what we can make it under God.

"Confidence across our divisions cannot be separated from trust. We need a new confidence in ourselves - and in each other. All of us can contribute to that confidence and trust. The Resurrection speaks of hope - and hope with trust is our greatest need for the future of this community."
