Christmas morning 2000
At this time of intense political activity and attempts to rescue the peace process Christians should pray for all involved in the current discussions. Recognising the various pressures at present placed on the governments and politicians we must pray that God will guide them at this critical time of decision.
Any development which moves further away the danger of violence returning to haunt this community must be welcomed and afforded every opportunity to succeed. This is the wish of the overwhelming number of Protestants and Roman Catholics in Northern Ireland.

IN NORTHERN IRELAND
| "On behalf of the Church of Ireland I pay tribute to the life and leadership of Archbishop Runcie. I extend my sincere sympathy to his widow, Lady Lindy. |
Archbishop Robin Eames has just celebrated the 25th anniversary of his consecration as a bishop. To mark the occasion his clerical colleagues in the Diocese of Armagh and their wives met with the Archbishop's family in St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh, on St. Columba's Day, 9 June, for a celebration of the Holy Communion. The Archbishop was the celebrant and the service was also attended by many retired clergy of the diocese.
