Synod Service Sermon by Bishop Paul Colton
The Church of Ireland’s 2025 General Synod is today gathering in Naas on the first of its three days of business. Each diocesan synod or General Synod – a word derived from the Greek súnodos for assembly or meeting – is preceded by a public celebration of Holy Communion. This year’s General Synod Service is taking place in St David’s Church, Naas, and the preacher is the Rt Revd Dr Paul Colton, Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross.
