The Bishop of Pittsburg, the Rt Revd Robert Duncan, will be the special preacher at St Patrick’s Day Inter-denominational Festival Service in Down Cathedral, Downpatrick. He has been invited by the Bishop of Down & Dromore, the Rt Revd Harold Miller. Bishop Miller said: “I am delighted that Bishop Duncan will be with us on St Patrick’s Day. This year’s diocesan focus is on Reconciliation and what we can all do to heal the wounds of our past. With the theme of A Time to Heal, I am using opportunities such as St Patrick’s Day to build friendships between people of all denominations and from local communities, and to celebrate difference as well as the things we have in common”.
The Rev. Gillian Wharton, Chaplain at Rathdown School in Glenageary, County Dublin, is the Church of Ireland Chaplain to the Special Olympics.
